Autism in Children a Pointer to Mitochondrial Disease!
Depression is an ailment that finds a mighty existence wherever it cares to put its foot into. In the current times not one human being is free from this malice. Even the inanimate objects like economy have begun to suffer the whips of depression. Time and again Nature has also survived the hits of depression.
Children are also very much vulnerable to this mental ailment. In fact in children the disease can take dangerous proportions, as a child is not equipped to be articulate about the problems they are facing. Now autism in children can get even more serious and it is a matter of serious concern for the parents. Studies have shown that children having this mental disorder may develop muscle weakness. Muscle weakness in autism may point to a genetic muscle disorder called mitochondrial disease.
This muscle disorder is caused when the muscles are deprived of getting the energy necessary for their proper functioning. However, researchers are also of the opinion that mitochondrial disease can also be the cause of autism. The muscle disorder might hamper the proper flow of energy to the brain thus making it vulnerable to fall prey to several mental disorders.
Though it is hard to track mental problems in the children, any persisting abnormal behaviour in the child should be immediately reported to the doctor. Mental disorders like autism and depression are curable if they are diagnosed early and sometimes even when they are diagnosed late. In case of children early medical help is necessary because they might not be suitable for the anti depressants, which are the most popular form of depression cure.
