Ace-Specs, Aro-Specs and Questioning Folk of Cambridge

The community for people on the asexuality-spectrum, aromantic spectrum and those questioning their identity on these spectrums. Hosted by Cambridge Univerisity Students’ Union LGBT+ Campaign, this community is open to all. There is a groupchat, which is an informal and unofficial space for ace-spec, aro-spec and questioning folk of Cambridge to come together and chat about all sorts of topics, and the Discord server is the official space where they host weekly virtual coffee meets on Saturday afternoons. If you’d like to get involved in either, please email with your Facebook name (for the groupchat) and/or your Discord username (for the server). 

Cambridge LGBTQ+ Book Club

They meet up once a month to discuss queer books and celebrate our heritage and history. Meetings are the last Wednesday of the month from 6 – 7.30pm  via Zoom. Cambridgeshire LGBTQ+ Writing Group

A social group for LGBTQ+ writers based in Cambridgeshire. Open to everyone who identifies as LGBTQ+, lives in Cambridgeshire and enjoys writing. That could be anyone from occasional journal writers to professionals; from poets to playwrights to novelists to any other kind of writers!


A safe place for gay and bi men age 18+ to chat, catch up with people and ‘chew the fat’ about anything and everything and get information and support from both Dhiverse and other people in the group.  They meet via Zoom on the second Thursday of the month at 6pm. Links to the meetings will be shared on the Meetup. 

Diamonds Central

A friendly and informal transgender support and social group based in Cambridge. They meet every Wednesday evening at 8pm at the Boathouse. Ask on their Facebook page for access to the group or contact them from their website

Gay Outdoor Club

The Gay Outdoor Club operates throughout Great Britain and provides a wide range of outdoor and indoor sports and recreational activities for LGBT+ people. Lesbian and Bi Women Chat

This is a friendly, safe and welcoming regular event that is supportive of diversity. We welcome: Any woman who identifies as a woman, lives as a woman, and loves women. This includes lesbian, bi, pan, queer, trans and cis and anyone who comes under the above definition. They meet via Zoom on the first Tuesday of every month – RSVP to the events on Meetup to get the meeting links

Let’s Go Climb!

This climbing group is open to everyone from beginners to seasoned climbers and meets at Rainbow Rocket climbing centre every Saturday from 10.30am-12.30pm. For more information, including details about the required pre-registration, see the Meetup page.

LGBT Mature

A group for LGBT people over the age of 50 looking for company and support. They meet every Tuesday from 2-4pm, usually at The Orator. They are also still having occasional online meet-ups. If you would like to join their community, ask to join the group

Open Table

A worshipping Christian community offering a warm welcome to LGBT+ people and allies. Join them on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month at 7pm at Downing Place United Reformed Church. Email for more information.

QTI Coalition of Colour 
A network for self-identified QTI (queer, trans, intersex) people of colour in Cambridge. Their aim is to explore, discuss and share experiences of the intersection of race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity and sexual identity and create safe spaces for QTI BIPoC.

Queers In Shorts

Starting in February 2022, Queers in Shorts will once again be running monthly film nights at the Cambridge Arts Picturehouse showcasing short films with queer themes.

QWiC – A Queer Women and Non-Binary Community

QWiC is an inclusive social group for all LBTQ (lesbian, bisexual, trans, queer) women and non binary people who think the group is appropriate for them. The aim of the group is to be a safe social space for people who are queer and non-man-identifying. They are based in/around Cambridge and mostly meet up within the city of Cambridge. Sing Out

Sing Out Cambridge is a friendly choir for the LGBT+ community, welcoming everyone regardless of experience with no auditions. They meet every Monday from 7 – 8.30pm at Downing Place United Reformed Church. Email for more information.

A coffee group open to anyone who identifies as transgender, non-binary, intersex or questioning. They meet on the first and third Sunday of the month, either online or in-person.
