Helen Slone

Helen Slone - Chair

Helen is a Software Developer and mum to a teenager. She currently manages a team of software developers at Flock Insurance. She moved to a village just outside Cambridge in July 2020, having previously established an LGBT group in her former hometown of Potton. In 2017 she persuaded Potton Town Council to mark Stonewall Day by flying the rainbow flag on the iconic clock tower in the market square.

Adam Olivant - Trustee

Adam is an experienced IT Support professional with background in Healthcare and Education. Adam is currently working for BT in their Field Customer Service division as a Customer Engineer Allocator. Adam was previously Network Lead for the LGBT Staff Network at Anglia Ruskin. Adam also supports his local Royal Air Force Air Cadet Squadron. Adam has interest in supporting individuals to be who they want to be by the use of coaching and mentoring. Adam was also the Young Person of the Year for Cambridgeshire in 2014 for learning from being bullied how to support others.

Catherine Meads - Trustee

Catherine has been conducting research into lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) health since 1992, an area of profound health issues but little research or use of evidence to drive public health policy. Her work includes several publications, lectures to undergraduate medical students, an eLearning package for GPs and being on conference steering committees. One systematic review was used to obtain funding for an LGBT health centre in Birmingham. Recently she completed a best evidence review for Public Health England on healthcare experiences and health of UK sexual minority women.

Paulina Palmer - Trustee

Paulina is a lecturer for the Gender Studies MA at Birkbeck College, University of London. Paulina also writes and publishes work in the field of lesbian/queer fiction and theory. She helped run the Cambridge Lesbian Helpline from 1979 until 2003. She is a member of Sister Act, the Cambridge-based lesbian/bisexual social organisation. She also runs a workshop on Queer Literature and Film in Cambridge during LGBT History Month.

Charmaine Powell - Admin Assistant

Charmaine went from Creative Writing student to veterinary nurse on her path to Encompass Network. She lives in Spalding and enjoys dog walks, reading and slowly learning computer programming.
