Trans Day of Remembrance – Cambridge SU
November 20 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Join us for our service for Trans Day of Remembrance, where we come together as a community to remember, mourn, and show solidarity. We want everyone to be able to use this space today to mourn those they’ve lost, reflect on the past year and all the stresses that have come with it, and hopefully feel a sense of community, isolated as we are.
The event will open with an introduction from our trans reps. If you have a message you’d like them to read out, you can leave it on this digital wall here: https://padlet.com/me441/d5qt2wfib5ihqaru
There will then be space for anyone who wishes to speak to do so. You do not need to let us know in advance, so you can prepare something or decide on the day. We ask that you will content note what you’re going to talk about before you start talking.
At the end, we will close off with a silence, and a final reading.
The event will be held over teams. If you log in from an external account, you can change your display name. Teams offers a live auto-caption service. If you need to leave at any time you can do, and this will not be questioned. This space is open to all, but we ask that cis allies please be mindful of allowing trans and non-binary people to speak and share their thoughts, and that you do not talk over anyone.
Any concerns please contact Milo Eyre-Morgan
