Power In Discussion and Peterborough Pride
February 25 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
To mark LGBT History Month, Power In Discussion and Peterborough Pride are hosting a joint virtual event which focuses on Black LGBTQ+ communities across Bedford and Peterborough.
- Creating a safe space to highlight Black LGBTQ+ visibility locally (Bedford & Peterborough)
- Discussing ways of improving Black LGBTQ+ representation and inclusion at Peterborough Pride
- Celebrating the history and identity of Black LGBTQ+ folks
- Creating a space for discussion on how LGBTQ+ history is included within a celebration of Black History
All are welcome to the event, and we would particularly like to engage in discussion with people in Black communities, and those who identify as Black and LGBTQ+.
We are really excited to create a space to centre the voices and experiences of Black LGBTQ+ people locally.
Please feel free to share the invite with those in the community who you think may benefit from the discussion, and those who may be able to contribute to our shared aims.
As with all Power In Discussion events, we would like to create a space where people feel comfortable to share their views in a safe environment, free of judgement, homophobia, transphobia, misogyny and racism.

Zoom is a video call platform, that allows you to chat and see people in a group. You can run it on a smartphone, tablet, laptop or computer, as long as you have a camera and microphone or headphones. For a handy guide to using Zoom for the first time, watch this video from Cambridge Central Library: https://youtu.be/QRpTWZKwr6U
All the details will be on the email from Eventbrite. To book your place, register to attend (it’s free!) You do not have to have an Eventbrite account to attend the event, but in case you lose the confirmation email it is easier to set up one in advance.
