About this Event

We are excited to have Kefentse Dennis (he/him)​, Lily Martin (they/she)​ and Grace Anderson (she/her)​ join us for our series of interactive talks on the climate emergency, environmentalism and Green politics. They will be discussing LGBT+ History and what we can learn from the past to influence the future.

 

The format will be an introductory talks by our three speakers, followed by a Q&A.

About the Speakers

Kefentse Dennis (he/him)

Kefentse Dennis is the is newly elected Trade Union Liaison Officer, as well as the Greens of Colour’s Regional Officer for the West Midlands and the Birmingham Green Party’s Membership Officer. He has been an Environmentalist for the last 15 years backed by an academic background. He’s a vegan, he’s stood for Parliament, for European Parliament, and Local Council. He is currently training to be a Geography teacher.

 

Lily Martin (they/she)

Lily has been a UNISON member for almost five years, with a main focus on LGBT+ activism as well as mental health awareness. Lily is now entering their second year as co-chair of the UNISON LGBT+ Eastern Region committee and also heads the Cambridge University Hospitals LGBT+ Staff network which allows for work to benefit patients, relatives and staff.

 

Grace Anderson (she/her)

Grace is a chaotic poet from the North East, who talks too much at parties about queer rights movements. She is Cambridge Students Union’s Welfare and Insight Manager. Grace graduated from Anglia Ruskin University with an MA in Sociology, her thesis titled ‘Self Censoring a Nation: The Lasting Effects of Section 28 in England’.
