Frightful Families

October 29 @ 8:00 pm - 11:30 pm

Out For Blood is back – queerer and bigger than ever!
Join us online for FOUR nights of spooks and scares introduced by our delightfully devilish hosts.
Featuring 21 fantastic films from around the world, Out For Blood is a queer horror film festival that highlights the creativity and excellence within the LGBTQIA+ community. Grab some popcorn and settle in – from werewolves, sirens, supernatural spectres and grisly murders, we’re showing movies to both delight and horrify.
We’re excited that we will have an audience vote for best film at this year’s festival – all ticket holders will be able to vote once per ticket through our online voting form (provided each day of the festival by email).
On each day of the festival, ticket holders will receive an email with the link and password to watch the event online. The festival will be hosted on Vimeo. We recommend that people sign up with a free account to watch the movies.
This year, to keep us all connected during the festival, we have set up an Out For Blood Discord server for all event attendees to be able to easily access live information about the festival and to chat with other attendees. Once a ticket has been purchased, ticket holders will receive a link to sign up and join our Discord server. We highly recommend that people utilise the Discord server as it will be used as the first port of call for all things Out For Blood 2020. However, for those of you who do not want to join us on Discord, we recommend emailing us at if you need to get in touch.
ENGLISH SUBTITLES will be available on all videos with the exception of two music video shorts: In A Better Place (Final Queer), Happy Sad Face (Little Screen of Horrors).
FULL FESTIVAL PASS – £10 (plus ticket fees). This ticket grants access to all four days of the festival. All film screenings will be available online from 8pm (UK time) and will be available to watch online for 24 hours.
FRIGHTFUL FAMILIES – 29th October 2020 – £3 (plus ticket fee). This ticket gives you access to day two of the festival only (29/10/2020). All film screenings will be available online from 8pm (UK time) and will be available to watch online for 24 hours.
All families have their secrets… and these households give a new meaning to ‘blood is thicker than water’! Sam and Elecia, the couple behind Out For Blood Film Festival, welcome you into their home for a chilling feast full of undead spirits and revenge.
Frightful Families also includes an online pre-show guest talk ‘Pride and Pathology’: Queer Horror and Mental Anguish by Dr. Darren Elliott-Smith. Darren is a senior lecturer in film and gender at the University of Stirling. His research focuses mainly on representations of queerness, gender, and the body in horror film and television and extends to cult and trash cinema and film exhibition, programming and curation. This talk will be available online publicly and viewers do not require a ticket to watch.
Film Schedule:
Mommy Got A Demon – Dir. Demerson Souza
The Other Half – Dir. Sepehr Basirmand
Chatau Sauvignon: Terroir – Dir. D.M. Night Maire
Family History – Dir. Mark J. Parker
