Encompass Network has a number of local initiatives it is involved in setting up and coordinating to help strengthen and celebrate the local LGBTQ community.
Every year we coordinate activities for LGBT History Month here in Cambridge, working with a number of partners from local voluntary, statutory and business sectors. We always try to offer a range of activities to suit the needs of a diverse group of people. Other campaigns include our local funding initiative- The LGBT COMPOT (Community Pot)- a small fund which local LGBTQ people can apply too to help put on events for the community and the soon to be launched Safer Spaces campaign– helping us to celebrate diversity within the community through creating safe spaces for LGBTQ people.
Both of these initiatives have come about as a result of the recent needs assessment we undertook which highlighted the need for increased activities and spaces for the LGBTQ community. Find out more about the needs assessment here.
